Djarum Cherry was first introduced to the US market in 2003, together with Djarum Menthol and Djarum Vanilla.
When launched, it was the first cherry-flavored clove cigarette in the world.
It is distributed not only in Europe but also in other continents such as Africa and Asia.
It was awarded Inter-tabac Stars in 2008 for the most interesting new product.

Author’s review “I love these! They have a strong cherry fragrance that reminds me very much of De Kuyper Cherry Brandy. It’s incredibly pleasant if you like sweet, dark cherry flavours like that. The filter is sweetened, and that taste lingers on the lips, a lot like the Blacks. The cherry flavour and sweetness lasts the entire cig, which is impressive. The cherry flavour itself compliments the clove flavour very well, a perfect blend of the two. They are milder and sweeter than the Blacks, despite having the same nicotine/tar/etc. content. The hit is pretty similar, intense. They burn for a long time, like the Blacks. They’re similarly slim, and tightly packed, though the filter is deep cherry red and the paper is white. The cherry scent lingers after you’ve smoked one. Even as addictive as cigarettes are anyway, I found these to be very ‘moreish’. Though despite their strength and intensity, it’s easier to smoke more of these a day than the Blacks, I could easily manage ten, where with Blacks, 4-5 max. Definately reccomend if you have a sweet tooth and you’re already a fan of kreteks.”
